ON THE EDGE OF WRONG – OSLO '08 |
| On The Edge Of Wrong – Oslo is a festival spanning over three days; 8th – 10th May 2008. Experimental music and sound art represented by a young creative scene. Podium in Hausmannsgate 34 is the chosen location. Podium is defined as an artist laboratory, and this is indeed descriptive of what kind of event OTEoW - Oslo is. Through 6-9 performances per night, alternative subgenres within electronica, noise, jazz, different forms of improvised compositions and programmed sound will be presented. Present in the venue is an installation consisting of objects, sculptures, floor-/wall painting and light to which some of the musicians will relate to during their live performances. We aim to break boundaries through this experiment. On The Edge Of Wrong was at first realized as a two-day festival in Cape Town, South Africa in 2006. The main focus being improvised music although its community is minimal, it proved to be a success judging from the response from musicians and audience. The success has nothing but increased the latter years. This years event in particular reached a "larger" audience. A strong foundation for future collaborations and funding has been established. South Africa has not yet seen events of this like before. The Oslo leg of the project has a natural focus on the Norwegian scene, and a strong motivation is to strengthen the exchange between the two. This years On The Edge Of Wrong – Oslo features Mark Fransman (ZA) who recently received the award "Standard Banks young artist of the year 2008" in South Africa. Other International acts are Eiko (CH) and Simona Barbera (IT). | Festival T-shirts for sale! Ladies and gents fits.
